Main Duties and Responsibilities of the company
CSL were appointed as the Main Contractor for this project and fulfilled the roles of PSDP and PSCS.
The upgrade works took place across 3 No. sites in Co. Wicklow.
The following works were completed.
- Carry out a detailed asset survey on site to include:
- All hardware components complete with ratings.
- All field devices complete with ratings.
- Current Control Philosophy.
- Telemetry arrangements.
- Design a new Form 4 Electrical Control Panel to fit into existing control buildings.
- New Form 4 Control Panel to replace existing units on site, incorporating:
- ESB requirements
- Hardware devices
- Field devices
- Control philosophy
- Telemetry
- Distribution Systems
- Instrumentation
- Variable Speed Drives
- Domestic Services refurbishment.
- Manual Generator Change-Over Incomer Supply Facility.
- Automation of the plants including the supply of PLC & HMI, Programme Development and Configuration, Functional Design Specifications, Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
- All Automation works were carried out in-house by CSL’s Automation Engineers.
Commissioning Services Ltd are a Registered Electrical Contractor with Safe Electric Ireland.
All electrical installations were completed to current ECTI Regulations and in accordance with CER and Safe Electric Completion Certificate Requirements. See below for copies of the Completion Certs for each site.

The Wastewater Treatments Plant had to remain in operation at all times during the upgrade works 24-7.
